Have you ever been out litter picking?
If you have then you know…it can get a bit competitive.
Read about its latest event and more in this week’s round up.
I still can’t believe that Bob won’t be at the end of the phone when I need to delve into the history of Nunthorpe or a finer point of planning law.
Quite simply, Bob Mullen is a man whose loss will be felt by so many. And his impact on our community forever felt.
Friends and loved ones have got together and written a tribute to Bob that speaks volumes. He was one of a kind. You can read it here.
Litter-picking is good for the soul.
It sounds daft – but it gets you out in the open, doing something productive and those endorphins flowing.
By the end of the session today, the kids and I were pushing each other’s litter pickers away to get the chunkiest bits of rubbish.
As well as teaching children how damaging litter can be, it develops pride in communities, makes places look tidier AND helps clock up those steps.
If you’d like to know when the next Nunthorpe litter pick takes place then keep updated here.
A bit of sparkle
Nunthorpe’s last community fireworks event certainly went off with a bang, with well over 1,000 people turning up to celebrate at Nunthorpe and Marton Recreation Ground.
This week I have been involved in planning for this year’s efforts – and I know November 9 will be an event to put into your calendar.
